Success of scholarship holders abroad
Miona Dinić is a first-year master's student in a two-subject program of English and Italian language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Ljubljana, and she has already achieved numerous successes through formal education and many extracurricular activities. Her wish is, in addition to success in academic circles, to start a journalistic career and try her hand at literary criticism.
The Studenica Foundation is in contact with students throughout the year, values and wholeheartedly supports the work, growth and success of all scholarship holders. At the beginning of February, Miona delighted us with news about her successes in writing literary criticism in Slovenian and Italian, and human rights activism. We are also glad that foreign cultural magazines and organizations have recognized the potential and quality of our scholarship holders. Miona's critique of the book "Kintsugi bodies", by the writer Senka Marić, was published in a Slovenian cultural magazine, and you can find out more about the critique at the link. Miona points out that this is an important initial step towards writing and publishing future reviews, and is her backing for everything that is coming. Also, Miona's critique of the book "Due vite" by the writer Emanuel Trevi, who won the Strega Award in Italy, written in Italian, will be published in the fall in the German-Italian literary magazine Horizonte.
As she is actively involved in the activities organized by the Amnesty Academy (Amnesty International Slovenia) in the fight for human rights, Miona contributed by completing one of the projects where she researched and compiled a list of 10 books based on human rights. You can read more about it HERE.
We are happy that such young and successful individuals represent our people in the best light abroad, contributing to their qualities.
We are especially glad when our fellows abroad who have made acquaintances through the Foundation contact us. That is how Luka Radičević and Miona met, where Miona, on Luka's recommendation, became the coordinator for translators at the TEDxLjubljana organization. Miona Dinić will spend the next semester in Milan, and the Foundation wishes her much success in the future. We believe that we will also receive such great and beautiful news from Italy!
