The Studenica Foundation awards scholarships to Serbian students at faculties on the territory of the Republic of Serbia and in the region. From 2020, the competition is also open to freshmen with leadership potential. ​
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Who Can Apply for the Scholarship?
Serbian students enrolled at universities in the Republic of Serbia or the surrounding region are eligible to apply. The call is also open to first-year students.

Number of Scholarships Awarded
Depending on the academic year, the Foundation awards between 30 and 40 scholarships, including several for students studying in the region. Special attention is given to students pursuing careers in teaching and education.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount is 200,000 RSD. It will be paid out in 10 equal monthly installments.

Students from the Region
Serbian students from Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina are eligible to apply.
Number of Scholarships

Approximately 30–40 students receive our scholarship each year. Since 2020, scholarships have also been awarded to first-year students.

The scholarship can be renewed for the remaining years of undergraduate study, provided that the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria listed on this page.

Each year, a number of scholarships are also awarded to Serbian students in the Republic of Srpska, Croatia, Montenegro, and Slovenia.

Amount

The scholarship amount is 200,000 RSD. It is disbursed in 10 equal monthly installments.

Application Period

The application period is open from October 20 to November 20, 2025.

Renewal

The scholarship may be renewed for the remaining years of undergraduate study, as long as the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria outlined below.

Criteria for applicants


Selection is based on the personal achievements of students who meet clearly defined criteria.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Be full-time students enrolled in undergraduate or master’s studies at an accredited higher education institution, or first-year undergraduate students;
  • Demonstrate clear financial need;
  • Have outstanding academic performance;
  • Provide evidence of academic and extracurricular achievements (e.g. other scholarships awarded, university prizes, research results, artistic work, publications, competition awards);
  • Have strong educational and professional goals;
  • Be involved in volunteer work and extracurricular activities of social and national importance, as well as demonstrate overall civic engagement;
  • Show leadership potential.

Applicants who pass the first round of selection will be asked to submit two letters of recommendation that speak to their character, abilities, commitment, and initiative.

Letters of recommendation are not required in the first round of the application process.

Priority will be given to students pursuing careers in teaching and education.

Application Schedule

The general schedule for each academic year is provided below. During this period, students who make it to the shortlist will be invited for an interview, and the final list of scholarship recipients and the date of the scholarship award ceremony will be announced on the Studenica Foundation's website.
  • The competition is announced annually in the period of September-October.
  • Applications for the competition are accepted for three weeks after the competition is announced.
  • After the expiration of this period, candidates who make it to the shortlist will be invited for an interview.
  • The final list of recipients will be published by the end of November of the current year on the Studenica Foundation's website.

Important to know

The selected candidates will be invited for an interview. Based on the interview, a decision will be made on the scholarship winners.

Certificates, letters of recommendation, and other documentation will only be prepared and made by students who are on the scholarship recipient list.

​The results of the competition will be published on the Studenica Foundation website no later than four weeks after the competition ends.
