Studenica Foundation at the diaspora meeting
The traditional Vidovdan Assembly was held on July 1 and 2, 2023, in the House of the National Assembly in Belgrade. The assembly was attended by 250 delegates of the Serbian diaspora, and in front of the "Studenica Foundation" were manager Marina Tomović and senior adviser Vuka Jeremić.
The organizer is the Cabinet of the Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Diaspora, that is, the Minister of the Diaspora, Đorđe Milićević.
After 13 years, the Serbian diaspora found itself in the parliament, and the topics of the meeting were the discussion on the Law on the Diaspora in Serbia, the Diaspora Assembly, the economy and culture of our people in the world and at home. The great potential of the Serbian diaspora lies in its professional and professional knowledge, and the goal of such gatherings is to connect our successful people with the motherland, in order to develop all branches of science and economy in Serbia through the sharing of knowledge and investments. Preservation of cultural heritage and identity is another important aspect, and the best ways to support the development of cultural activities of Serbs abroad and the media of Serbs from the region were also discussed.
For two full days, the Serbian diaspora was in the Serbian parliament, and gatherings like this testify to the connection of the diaspora with the motherland, because the aspiration is that our people around the world contribute to the motherland with their knowledge and expertise.
