Cultural event "Queen of Chess"
On Sunday, March 6, 2022, in the ceremonial hall of the Belgrade municipality of Vračar, the seventh traditional women's chess tournament "Queen of Chess" was held, with general sponsorship of the Studenica Foundation.
Over two hundred talented chess players, pupils of Belgrade primary schools, took part in the event, which were divided into several age categories.
The event itself is organized on the occasion of the International Women's Day, and its goal is to popularize chess as a game that brings great benefits to young people and invites students to become more involved in this sports game. Given that the number of female chess players in Serbia lags behind the number of female chess players, the "Queen of Chess" event also contributes to the support of gender equality.
The tournament was held in the spirit of fair play, and all pupils were awarded medals. The most successful chess players were awarded cups and books, donated by the President of the Studenica Foundation, Mr. Miroslav Majkl Djordjevic, with a dedication to young hopes:
It is with great pleasure that I congratulate you on your success in the "Queen of Chess 2022" competition.
to you personally, as well as to your coaches and the club.
I wish you good health and further success in chess
