Katarina’s Deep Roots of Education
Katarina comes from Zvečan, and she is a third year student at the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Prishtina, with a temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica. Other than the fact that she decided to improve her interests at this faculty, and study biological sciences, Katarina has a great love for the social sciences as well. She likes to spend her free time attending various courses, workshops and events related to journalism.
So far, she has attended various workshops on media literacy, and the most important is the Ponder program of media literacy organized by the NGO "Domovik" from North Mitrovica with the support of UNICEF, as well as the OSCE School of Journalism.
This is not the end of Katarina's training, even though she has completed training for the U-Report platform managed by UNICEF. She has written articles and news for Crno Beli Svet, Leader online, Nova Perspektiva, and is currently an intern at Kontak Plus radio. At the end of 2020, she received the Leader of the Year award for her versatile work at the annual conference of the "Domovik" organization.
Since Katarina is a biology student, she plans to improve her knowledge in that field, and she is especially interested in microbiology. Her goal is to enroll in a master's degree in microbiology after completing basic academic studies, and to acquire the necessary knowledge and the title of a microbiologist.
In addition to not missing opportunities to improve and educate, Katarina loves to travel, meet new people and their cultures, and thus gain new experiences. She believes that there is power in education, and that no matter how bitter the roots of education are, the fruits are most certainly very sweet.
We are glad that the Foundation is part of the success and prosperity of young and great, versatile people, who strive for constant improvement and education!
