Scholarship ceremony 2017/2018
The Studenica Foundation awarded scholarships to the most successful students in Serbia this year. The ceremonial signing of the contract was held on Saturday, December 23, in the large hall of the Heritage Foundation in Belgrade. The best students from Belgrade, Nis, Kraljevo, Arandjelovac, Pancevo and other cities across Serbia came to the signing ceremony. For these students, the foundation has allocated around 4 million dinars. Thirty-five students from the University of Serbia received the scholarship. The ceremony was celebrated by members of the alumni choir of the Studenica Foundation who sang the national anthem of Serbia at the beginning and sang several folk old Serbian songs during the festivities.
Mr. Miroslav Michael Djordjevic, President of the Studenica Foundation, told the scholars: "This award you receive today stems from the deep conviction of the founders of the Foundation that the restoration of the Serbian people is only possible by improving and progressing in education, which is the cornerstone of individual and general progress."
The students were addressed by dr Slavka Draskovic, Vice President of the Foundation, who introduced the fellows to the goals of the Foundation. As a returnee from Canada, Dusan Kovacevic told the students why he returned to the country, why they should stay and how they can help Serbia with their engagement.
