THEY ARE THE FUTURE OF SERBIA
The Studenica Foundation from San Francisco awarded Serbian students from Serbia and the region with scholarships this year as well. Thirty-eight of the best were selected from over two hundred excellent candidates who applied to the Foundation's competition for the 2021/2022 school year.
The annual scholarship is 1200$ for students in Serbia, and 1500$ for Serbian students in the region, and there are those who, in order to study at prestigious universities in Europe, received a scholarship contract of 3000$.
This year's ceremony on the occasion of awarding scholarships and signing contracts with students was held at the University Library "Svetozar Markovic" in Belgrade. Members of the Board of Directors Dušica Protić and Dr. Slavka Drašković spoke at the ceremony, as well as members of the Serbian Board, Nenad Krzman, Olga Danilović and Dr. Žaneta Đukić Perišić, and the special guest at the ceremony was the artist Lena Kovačević.. They were very satisfied that there is such a large number of successful and talented young Serbs, who not only graduate with the best grades, but also engage through various activities to help their environment, the local community and society as a whole.
We single out some of the fellows of the Foundation, as an example, for this occasion, only three students, because they all deserve to be talked about and to be proud of them!
Luka Radičević, a student from the region majoring in international relations at the University of Ljubljana, is one of many good examples: At the faculty he assists in research work, he is a demonstrator at the scientific center "House of Experiments" in Ljubljana, for which he wrote and adapted a mini linguistic experiment. He is working on the script for the scientific play "Linguistics" and the opening of the branch office of that scientific center in his hometown. He has published ten scientific papers and two chapters in monographs, and is currently part of several research projects in the field he is studying, as well as a guest member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Politeum". His achievements were recognized by the humanitarian organization "Find Raul", choosing him as one of the speakers at this year's Seventh Forum of Young Scientists. Within the program "When I grow up, I will be ..." he was elected one of the mentors for the second year in a row. He is the founder and president of the Group of Friendship and Cooperation with the Republic of Serbia within the student association for international relations "Globallis" at his faculty. Through his work, he tries to strengthen the connection between Serbia and its citizens abroad.
Freshmen do not lag behind in success either. Teodora Mašković Đeri, for example, is a first year student of psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, and she is already a member of the team for activity and organization of the Association of Psychology Students "Stimulus". She is an active member of the European Youth Parliament. She represented the national committee at a session in Poland through the role of a peer educator where she led a team of young people and helped them devise solutions to the very important social problems facing European countries. She presented her first scientific work in the field of psychology at the conference "Step into Science". Teodora participated in the AIESEC project "Start your future". She was also part of the InnoSchool pilot program for learning about social entrepreneurship.
The scholarship holders of the Studenica Foundation have their own blog, and this year they will be joined by Katarina Milić from Zvečan, who is studying at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Kosovska Mitrovica. She is also a journalist and mainly writes about young people in Kosovo and Metohija. The blog "(S) MISAO" of the Studenica Foundation writes about young leaders, successful people in our southern province, showing their talents, achievements in science, sports and art. That way, the voice of young people from Kosovo and Metohija will be heard even better and louder.

This is the twenty-eighth generation of students from Serbia who are receiving scholarships from the Studenica Foundation. Since its founding in 1993, the Foundation has provided scholarships to over two thousand young people of all educational backgrounds, many of whom today are leaders in political, public and business life of Serbia, the region and the world.
The Studenica Foundation was founded by prominent families of the Serbian diaspora in America, led by Miroslav Michael Djordjevic, in order to help the progress of Serbian society through the education of young people.
Today, most of the founders are no longer with us, and in order to continue its exceptional mission, the Studenica Foundation strives to get the support of other individuals from the diaspora and Serbia, who recognize the importance of educating and nurturing the talents of our young generations.
Understanding and help of current donors, as well as those who will join the important mission of the Foundation with their donations in the future, are of inestimable importance for its further noble work.
The foundation bears the name of the famous Serbian monastery, as a symbol of Serbian enlightenment and progress, for which it received a blessing, as well as a special permit to use the famous Studenica Cross in its logo.
