TEN YEARS OF THE "QUEENS OF CHESS" TOURNAMENT

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the traditional chess tournament for girls, named "Queens of Chess," was held.

Since 2016, when the project of chess tournaments for elementary school girls in Belgrade was launched, the Studenica Foundation has consistently supported and encouraged girls' interest in this noble game. The goal of the project is not only to bring chess closer to young generations but also to contribute to the overall development of girls through the game and the intellectual challenges that chess offers.

This year's tournament was held on Sunday, March 9th, at the "Milan Đ. Milićević" Elementary School. The girls competed in groups from first to fourth grade, with a total of 62 participants. Additionally, for girls in grades five through eight, as well as those who couldn't compete on Sunday, a tournament will be held later this month.

All the girls received medals for participating in the tournament, and the best were awarded a trophy.
We are pleased that through such projects, we have been spreading chess culture for years, especially among younger generations.

Congratulations to all the wonderful girls, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
