The foundation “Prof. Dr. Marko V. Jarić " announced the winner of the award for physics "Marko Jarić" for 2020 on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 12:39 o'clock on the Zoom platform.
This prestigious award, which has been awarded for more than two decades by the Foundation "Prof. Dr. Marko V. Jarić” , is also known in the domestic media as the“ Serbian Nobel Prize in Physics ”.
The award ceremony was opened by Marija Đurić from the Institute of Physics in Belgrade, after which prof. Dr. Petar Adžić, Manager of the Foundation "Prof. Dr. Marko V. Jarić “ greeted the audience.
The winner of the competition was announced by Dr. Aleksandar Belić, a representative of the Board of Directors of the Foundation "Prof. Dr. Marko V. Jarić ”.

The award for 2020 was given to Professor Dr. Djordje Minic from the University of Virginia Tech, and the decision was made by a jury consisting of Dr. Voja Radovanovic,
Professor at the Faculty of Physics, Dr. Branislav Cvetkovic, scientific advisor at the Institute of Physics and Dr. Branislav Sazdovic from the Institute of Physics.
Dr. Aleksandar Bogojevic, director of the Institute of Physics, addressed the audience to congratulate the winner of the award and greet all those present, whom he thanked for their presence and noted that the live award ceremony will be held as soon as the epidemiological situation allows it.
The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Ivica Radović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, who congratulated the winner and emphasized the importance of the Foundation "Prof. Dr. Marko V. Jarić ”.
