AWARD FOR PHILANTHROPY TO ALEX MACHASKEE
On January 2nd, in Cleveland, in honor of the legacy of benefactor and philanthropist Alex Machaskee, the “Miroslav Michael Djordjevic” Philanthropy Award was presented. Advisor Dr. Veselin Sjekloća, who traveled to Cleveland specifically for this occasion, presented the award on behalf of the Studenica Foundation.
At the award ceremony, a letter from the Djordjevic family, led by the president of the Foundation and Miroslav Djordjevic’s daughter, Mari Shobe (Djordjevic), was read.
The Djordjevic family congratulated the first recipient of the Miroslav Michael Djordjevic Philanthropy Award, presented by the Studenica Foundation, highlighting his dedication to improving the life and future of the Serbian people. The letter emphasized the core values that defined Aleksa Macheski’s work - collaboration, striving for excellence, communication, and perseverance - as well as his vision of a better world for the community, the diaspora, and the homeland.
Miroslav Djordjevic greatly valued Alex’s efforts and support, considering him both a friend and a fellow visionary for a better future for the Serbian people. The Djordjevic family expressed deep respect and pride that the award bears the name of a man whose ideals continue through the work of its first recipient, Alex Machaskee.
